1.112.1
ईळे दयावाप्र्थिवी पूर्वचित्तये.अग्निं घर्मं सुरुचं यामन्निष्टये |
īḷe dyāvāpṛthivī pūrvacittaye.aghniṃ gharmaṃ surucaṃ yāmanniṣṭaye |
1 To give first thought to them, I worship Heaven and Earth, and Agni, fair bright glow, to hasten their approach.
1.112.2
याभिर्भरे कारमंशाय जिन्वथस्ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम ||
yābhirbhare kāramaṃśāya jinvathastābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā ghatam ||
Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids wherewith in fight ye speed the war-cry to the spoil.
1.112.3
युवोर्दानाय सुभरा असश्चतो रथमा तस्थुर्वचसं न मन्तवे |
yuvordānāya subharā asaścato rathamā tasthurvacasaṃ na mantave |
2 Ample, unfailing, they have mounted as it were an eloquent car that ye may think of us and give.
1.112.4
याभिर्धियो.अवथःकर्मन्निष्टये ताभिर... ||
yābhirdhiyo.avathaḥkarmanniṣṭaye tābhir... ||
Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids wherewith ye help our thoughts to further holy acts.
1.112.5
युवं तासां दिव्यस्य परशासने विशां कषयथो अम्र्तस्यमज्मना |
yuvaṃ tāsāṃ divyasya praśāsane viśāṃ kṣayatho amṛtasyamajmanā |
3 Ye by the might which heavenly nectar giveth you are in supreme dominion Lords of all these folk.
1.112.6
याभिर्धेनुमस्वं पिन्वथो नरा ताभिर... ||
yābhirdhenumasvaṃ pinvatho narā tābhir... ||
Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids wherewith ye, Heroes, made the barren cow give milk.
1.112.7
याभिः परिज्मा तनयस्य मज्मना दविमाता तूर्षु तरणिर्विभूषति |
yābhiḥ parijmā tanayasya majmanā dvimātā tūrṣu taraṇirvibhūṣati |
4 The aids wherewith the Wanderer through his offspring's might, or the Two-Mothered Son shows swiftest mid the swift;
1.112.8
याभिस्त्रिमन्तुरभवद विचक्षणस्ताभिर.. . ||
yābhistrimanturabhavad vicakṣaṇastābhir.. . ||
Wherewith the sapient one acquired his triple lore,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.9
याभी रेभं निव्र्तं सितमद्भ्य उद वन्दनमैरयतं सवर्द्र्शे |
yābhī rebhaṃ nivṛtaṃ sitamadbhya ud vandanamairayataṃ svardṛśe |
5 Wherewith ye raised from waters, prisoned and fast bound, Rebha, and Vandana to look upon the light;

याभिः कण्वं पर सिषासन्तमावतं ताभिर... ||
yābhiḥ kaṇvaṃ pra siṣāsantamāvataṃ tābhir... ||
Wherewith ye succoured Kaṇva as he strove to win,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.11
याभिरन्तकं जसमानमारणे भुज्यं याभिरव्यथिभिर्जिजिन्वथुः |
yābhirantakaṃ jasamānamāraṇe bhujyaṃ yābhiravyathibhirjijinvathuḥ |
6 Wherewith ye rescued Antaka when languishing deep in the pit, and Bhujyu with unfailing help.
1.112.12
याभिः कर्कन्धुं वय्यं च जिन्वथस्ताभिर... ||
yābhiḥ karkandhuṃ vayyaṃ ca jinvathastābhir... ||
And comforted Karkandhu, Vayya, in their woe,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.13
याभिः शुचन्तिं धनसां सुषंसदं तप्तं घर्ममोम्यावन्तमत्रये |
yābhiḥ śucantiṃ dhanasāṃ suṣaṃsadaṃ taptaṃ gharmamomyāvantamatraye |
7 Wherewith ye gave Śucanti wealth and happy home, and made the fiery pit friendly for Atri's sake;

याभिः पर्ष्निगुं पुरुकुत्समावतं ताभिर... ||
yābhiḥ pṛṣnighuṃ purukutsamāvataṃ tābhir... ||
Wherewith ye guarded Purukutsa, Pṛśnigu,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvin;, with those aids.
1.112.15
याभिः शचीभिर्व्र्षणा पराव्र्जं परान्धं शरोणं चक्षस एतवे कर्थः |
yābhiḥ śacībhirvṛṣaṇā parāvṛjaṃ prāndhaṃ śroṇaṃ cakṣasa etave kṛthaḥ |
8 Mighty Ones, with what powers ye gave Parāvṛj aid what time ye made the blind and lame to see and walk;
1.112.16
याभिर्वर्तिकां गरसिताममुञ्चतन्ताभिर... ||
yābhirvartikāṃ ghrasitāmamuñcatantābhir... ||
Wherewith ye set at liberty the swallowed quail,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.17
याभिः सिन्धुं मधुमन्तमसश्चतं वसिष्ठं याभिरजरावजिन्वतम |
yābhiḥ sindhuṃ madhumantamasaścataṃ vasiṣṭhaṃ yābhirajarāvajinvatam |
9 Wherewith ye quickened the most sweet exhaustless flood, and comforted Vasiṣṭha, ye who ne’er decay;
1.112.18
याभिः कुत्सं शरुतर्यं नर्यमावतं ताभिर... ||
yābhiḥ kutsaṃ śrutaryaṃ naryamāvataṃ tābhir... ||
And to Śrutarya, Kutsa, Narya gave your help,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.19
याभिर्विश्पलां धनसामथर्व्यं सहस्रमीळ्ह आजावजिन्वतम |
yābhirviśpalāṃ dhanasāmatharvyaṃ sahasramīḷha ājāvajinvatam |
10 Wherewith ye helped, in battle of a thousand spoils, Viśpalā seeking booty, powerless to move.
1.112.20
याभिर्वशमश्व्यं परेणिमावतं ताभिर... ||
yābhirvaśamaśvyaṃ preṇimāvataṃ tābhir... ||
Wherewith ye guarded friendly Vaśa, Aśva's son,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.21
याभिः सुदानू औशिजाय वणिजे दीर्घश्रवसे मधु कोशोक्षरत |
yābhiḥ sudānū auśijāya vaṇije dīrghaśravase madhu kośoakṣarat |
11 Whereby the cloud, ye Bounteous Givers, shed sweet rain for Dīrghaśravas, for the merchant Auśija,

कक्षीवन्तं सतोतारं याभिरावतं ताभिर. .. ||
kakṣīvantaṃ stotāraṃ yābhirāvataṃ tābhir. .. ||
Wherewith ye helped Kakṣīvān, singer of your praise,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.23
याभी रसां कषोदसोद्नः पिपिन्वथुरनश्वं याभी रथमावतं जिषे |
yābhī rasāṃ kṣodasodnaḥ pipinvathuranaśvaṃ yābhī rathamāvataṃ jiṣe |
12 Wherewith ye made Rasā swell full with water-floods, and urged to victory the car without a horse;

याभिस्त्रिशोक उस्रिया उदाजत ताभिर... ||
yābhistriśoka usriyā udājata tābhir... ||
Wherewith Triśoka drove forth his recovered cows,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.25
याभिः सूर्यं परियाथः परावति मन्धातारं कषैत्रपत्येष्वावतम |
yābhiḥ sūryaṃ pariyāthaḥ parāvati mandhātāraṃ kṣaitrapatyeṣvāvatam |
13 Wherewith ye, compass round the Sun when far away, strengthened Mandhātar in his tasks as lord of lands,

याभिर्विप्रं पर भरद्वाजमावतं ताभिर... ||
yābhirvipraṃ pra bharadvājamāvataṃ tābhir... ||
And to sage Bharadvāja gave protecting help,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.27
याभिर्महामतिथिग्वं कशोजुवं दिवोदासं शम्बरहत्यावतम |
yābhirmahāmatithighvaṃ kaśojuvaṃ divodāsaṃ śambarahatyaāvatam |
14 Wherewith, when Śambara was slain, ye guarded well great Atithigva, Divodāsa, Kaśoju,
1.112.28
याभिः पूर्भिद्ये तरसदस्युमावतं ताभिर... ||
yābhiḥ pūrbhidye trasadasyumāvataṃ tābhir... ||
And Trasadasyu when the forts were shattered down,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.29
याभिर्वम्रं विपिपानमुपस्तुतं कलिं याभिर्वित्तजानिं दुवस्यथः |
yābhirvamraṃ vipipānamupastutaṃ kaliṃ yābhirvittajāniṃ duvasyathaḥ |
15 Wherewith ye honoured the great drinker Vamra, and Upastuta and Kali when he gained his wife,

याभिर्व्यश्वमुत पर्थिमावतं ताभिर... ||
yābhirvyaśvamuta pṛthimāvataṃ tābhir... ||
And lent to Vyaśva and to Pṛthi favouring help,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.31
याभिर्नरा शयवे याभिरत्रये याभिः पुरा मनवे गातुमीषथुः |
yābhirnarā śayave yābhiratraye yābhiḥ purā manave ghātumīṣathuḥ |
16 Wherewith, O Heroes, ye vouchsafed deliverance to Śayu, Atri, and to Manu long ago;
1.112.32
याभिः शारीराजतं सयूमरश्मये ताभिर... ||
yābhiḥ śārīrājataṃ syūmaraśmaye tābhir... ||
Wherewith ye shot your shafts in Syūmaraśmi's cause.—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.33
याभिः पठर्वा जठरस्य मज्मनाग्निर्नादीदेच्चित इद्धो अज्मन्ना |
yābhiḥ paṭharvā jaṭharasya majmanāghnirnādīdeccita iddho ajmannā |
17 Wherewith Paṭharvā, in his majesty of form, shone in his course like to a gathered kindled fire;
1.112.34
याभिः शर्यातमवथो महाधने ताभिर.. . ||
yābhiḥ śaryātamavatho mahādhane tābhir.. . ||
Wherewith ye helped Śāryāta in the mighty fray,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.35
याभिरङगिरो मनसा निरण्यथो.अग्रं गछथो विवरे गोर्णसः |
yābhiraṅghiro manasā niraṇyatho.aghraṃ ghachatho vivare ghoarṇasaḥ |
18 Wherewith, Aṅgirases! ye triumphed in your heart, and onward went to liberate the flood of milk;
1.112.36
याभिर्मनुं शूरमिषा समावतं ताभिर... ||
yābhirmanuṃ śūramiṣā samāvataṃ tābhir... ||
Wherewith ye helped the hero Manu with new strength,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.37
याभिः पत्नीर्विमदाय नयूहथुरा घ वा याभिररुणीरशिक्षतम |
yābhiḥ patnīrvimadāya nyūhathurā gha vā yābhiraruṇīraśikṣatam |
19 Wherewith ye brought a wife for Vimada to wed, wherewith ye freely gave the ruddy cows away;
1.112.38
याभिः सुदास ऊहथुः सुदेव्यं ताभिर... ||
yābhiḥ sudāsa ūhathuḥ sudevyaṃ tābhir... ||
Wherewith ye brought the host of kind Gods to Sudās—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.39
याभिः शन्ताती भवथो ददाशुषे भुज्युं याभिरवथो याभिरध्रिगुम |
yābhiḥ śantātī bhavatho dadāśuṣe bhujyuṃ yābhiravatho yābhiradhrighum |
20 Wherewith ye bring great bliss to him who offers gifts, wherewith ye have protected Bhujyu, Adhrigu,

ओम्यावतीं सुभरां रतस्तुभं ताभिर... ||
omyāvatīṃ subharāṃ ṛtastubhaṃ tābhir... ||
And good and gracious Subharā and Ṛtastup,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.41
याभिः कर्शानुमसने दुवस्यथो जवे याभिर्यूनो अर्वन्तमावतम |
yābhiḥ kṛśānumasane duvasyatho jave yābhiryūno arvantamāvatam |
21 Wherewith ye served Kṛśānu where the shafts were shot, and helped the young man's horse to swiftness in the race;
1.112.42
मधु परियं भरथो यत सरड्भ्यस्ताभिर... ||
madhu priyaṃ bharatho yat saraḍbhyastābhir... ||
Wherewith ye bring delicious honey to the bees,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.43
याभिर्नरं गोषुयुधं नर्षाह्ये कषेत्रस्य साता तनयस्य जिन्वथः |
yābhirnaraṃ ghoṣuyudhaṃ nṛṣāhye kṣetrasya sātā tanayasya jinvathaḥ |
22 Wherewith ye speed the hero as he fights for kine in hero battle, in the strife for land and sons,
1.112.44
याभी रथानवथो याभिरर्वतस्ताभिर... ||
yābhī rathānavatho yābhirarvatastābhir... ||
Wherewith ye safely guard his horses and his car,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins with those aids.
1.112.45
याभिः कुत्समार्जुनेयं शतक्रतू पर तुर्वीतिं पर च दभीतिमावतम |
yābhiḥ kutsamārjuneyaṃ śatakratū pra turvītiṃ pra ca dabhītimāvatam |
23 Wherewith ye, Lords of Hundred Powers, helped Kutsa, son of Ārjuni, gave Turvīti and Dabhīti strength,
1.112.46
याभिर्ध्वसन्तिं पुरुषन्तिमावतं ताभिर... ||
yābhirdhvasantiṃ puruṣantimāvataṃ tābhir... ||
Favoured Dhvasanti and lent Puruṣanti help,—Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids.
1.112.47
अप्नस्वतीमश्विना वाचमस्मे कर्तं नो दस्रा वर्षणा मनीषाम |
apnasvatīmaśvinā vācamasme kṛtaṃ no dasrā vṛṣaṇā manīṣām |
24 Make ye our speech effectual, O ye Aśvins, and this our hymn, ye mighty Wonder-Workers.
1.112.48
अद्यूत्ये.अवसे नि हवये वां वर्धे च नो भवतं वाजसातौ ||
adyūtye.avase ni hvaye vāṃ vṛdhe ca no bhavataṃ vājasātau ||
In luckless game I call on you for succour: strengthen us also on the field of battle.
1.112.49
दयुभिरक्तुभिः परि पातमस्मानरिष्टेभिरश्विना सौभगेभिः |
dyubhiraktubhiḥ pari pātamasmānariṣṭebhiraśvinā saubhaghebhiḥ |
25 With, undiminished blessings, O ye Aśvins, for evermore both night and day protect us.
1.112.50
तन नो ... ||

This prayer of ours may Varuṇa grant, and Mitra, and Aditi and Sindhu, Earth and Heaven.
