1.125.1
पराता रत्नं परातरित्वा दधाति तं चिकित्वान परतिग्र्ह्यानि धत्ते |
prātā ratnaṃ prātaritvā dadhāti taṃ cikitvān pratighṛhyāni dhatte |
1. COMING at early morn he gives his treasure; the prudent one receives and entertains him.
1.125.2
तेन परजां वर्धयमान आयू रायस पोषेण सचते सुवीरः ||
tena prajāṃ vardhayamāna āyū rāyas poṣeṇa sacate suvīraḥ ||
Thereby increasing still his life and offspring, he comes with brave sons to abundant riches.
1.125.3
सुगुरसत सुहिरण्यः सवश्वो बर्हदस्मै वय इन्द्रो दधाति |
sughurasat suhiraṇyaḥ svaśvo bṛhadasmai vaya indro dadhāti |
2 Rich shall he be in gold and kine and horses. Indra bestows on him great vital power,

यस्त्वायन्तं वसुना परातरित्वो मुक्षीजयेव पदिमुत्सिनाति ||
yastvāyantaṃ vasunā prātaritvo mukṣījayeva padimutsināti ||
Who stays thee, as thou comest, with his treasure, like game caught in the net, O early comer.
1.125.5
आयमद्य सुक्र्तं परातरिछन्निष्टेः पुत्रं वसुमता रथेन |
āyamadya sukṛtaṃ prātarichanniṣṭeḥ putraṃ vasumatā rathena |
3 Longing, I came this morning to the pious, the son of sacrifice, with car wealth-laden.
1.125.6
अंशोः सुतं पायय मत्सरस्य कषयद्वीरं वर्धय सून्र्ताभिः ||
aṃśoḥ sutaṃ pāyaya matsarasya kṣayadvīraṃ vardhaya sūnṛtābhiḥ ||
Give him to drink juice of the stalk that gladdens; prosper with pleasant hymns the Lord of Heroes.
1.125.7
उप कषरन्ति सिन्धवो मयोभुव ईजानं च यक्ष्यमाणं चधेनवः |
upa kṣaranti sindhavo mayobhuva ījānaṃ ca yakṣyamāṇaṃ cadhenavaḥ |
4 Health-bringing streams, as milch-cows, flow to profit him who hath worshipped, him who now will worship.
1.125.8
पर्णन्तं च पपुरिं च शरवस्यवो घर्तस्य धारा उप यन्ति विश्वतः ||
pṛṇantaṃ ca papuriṃ ca śravasyavo ghṛtasya dhārā upa yanti viśvataḥ ||
To him who freely gives and fills on all sides full streams of fatness flow and make him famous.
1.125.9
नाकस्य पर्ष्ठे अधि तिष्ठति शरितो यः पर्णाति स ह देवेषु गछति |
nākasya pṛṣṭhe adhi tiṣṭhati śrito yaḥ pṛṇāti sa ha deveṣu ghachati |
5 On the high ridge of heaven he stands exalted, yea, to the Gods he goes, the liberal giver.
1.125.10
तस्मा आपो घर्तमर्षन्ति सिन्धवस्तस्मा इयं दक्षिणा पिन्वते सदा ||
tasmā āpo ghṛtamarṣanti sindhavastasmā iyaṃ dakṣiṇā pinvate sadā ||
The streams, the waters flow for him with fatness: to him this guerdon ever yields abundance.
1.125.11
दक्षिणावतामिदिमानि चित्रा दक्षिणावतां दिवि सूर्यासः |
dakṣiṇāvatāmidimāni citrā dakṣiṇāvatāṃ divi sūryāsaḥ |
6 For those who give rich meeds are all these splendours, for those who give rich meeds suns shine in heaven.
1.125.12
दक्षिणावन्तो अम्र्तं भजन्ते दक्षिणावन्तः पर तिरन्त आयुः ||
dakṣiṇāvanto amṛtaṃ bhajante dakṣiṇāvantaḥ pra tiranta āyuḥ ||
The givers of rich meeds are made immortal; the givers of rich fees prolong their lifetime.
1.125.13
मा पर्णन्तो दुरितमेन आरन मा जारिषुः सूरयः सुव्रतासः |
mā pṛṇanto duritamena āran mā jāriṣuḥ sūrayaḥ suvratāsaḥ |
7 Let not the liberal sink to sin and sorrow, never decay the pious chiefs who worship!
1.125.14
अन्यस्तेषां परिधिरस्तु कश्चिदप्र्णन्तमभि सं यन्तु शोकाः ||
anyasteṣāṃ paridhirastu kaścidapṛṇantamabhi saṃ yantu śokāḥ ||
Let every man besides be their protection, and let affliction fall upon the niggard.
