1.67.1
वनेषु जायुर्मर्तेषु मित्रो वर्णीते शरुष्टिं राजेवाजुर्यम |
vaneṣu jāyurmarteṣu mitro vṛṇīte śruṣṭiṃ rājevājuryam |
1. VICTORIOUS in the wood, Friend among men, ever he claims obedience as a King.
1.67.2
कषेमो न साधुः करतुर्न भद्रो भुवत सवाधिर्होता हव्यवाट ||
kṣemo na sādhuḥ kraturna bhadro bhuvat svādhirhotā havyavāṭ ||
Gracious like peace, blessing like mental power, Priest was he, offering-bearer, full of thought.
1.67.3
हस्ते दधानो नर्म्णा विश्वान्यमे देवान धाद गुहा निषीदन |
haste dadhāno nṛmṇā viśvānyame devān dhād ghuhā niṣīdan |
2 He, bearing in his hand all manly might, crouched in the cavern, struck the Gods with fear.
1.67.4
विदन्तीमत्र नरो धियन्धा हर्दा यत तष्टान मन्त्रानशंसन ||
vidantīmatra naro dhiyandhā hṛdā yat taṣṭān mantrānaśaṃsan ||
Men filled with understanding find him there, when they have sting prayers formed within their heart.
1.67.5
अजो न कषां दाधार पर्थिवीं तस्तम्भ दयां मन्त्रेभिः सत्यैः |
ajo na kṣāṃ dādhāra pṛthivīṃ tastambha dyāṃ mantrebhiḥ satyaiḥ |
3 He, like the Unborn, holds the broad earth up; and with effective utterance fixed the sky.
1.67.6
परिया पदानि पश्वो नि पाहि विश्वायुरग्ने गुहा गुहं गाः ||
priyā padāni paśvo ni pāhi viśvāyuraghne ghuhā ghuhaṃ ghāḥ ||
O Agni, guard the spots which cattle love: thou, life of all, hast gone from lair to lair.
1.67.7
य ईं चिकेत गुहा भवन्तमा यः ससाद धारां रतस्य |
ya īṃ ciketa ghuhā bhavantamā yaḥ sasāda dhārāṃ ṛtasya |
4 Whoso hath known him dwelling in his lair, and hath approached the stream of holy Law,—
1.67.8
वि ये चर्तन्त्य रता सपन्त आदिद वसूनि पर ववाचास्मै ||
vi ye cṛtanty ṛtā sapanta ādid vasūni pra vavācāsmai ||
They who release him, paying sacred rites,—truly to such doth he announce great wealth.
1.67.9
वि यो वीरुत्सु रोधन महित्वोत परजा उत परसूष्वन्तः |
vi yo vīrutsu rodhan mahitvota prajā uta prasūṣvantaḥ |
5 He who grows mightily in herbs, within each fruitful mother and each babe she bears,
1.67.10
चित्तिरपां दमे विश्वायुः सद्मेव धीराः सम्माय चक्रुः ||
cittirapāṃ dame viśvāyuḥ sadmeva dhīrāḥ sammāya cakruḥ ||
Wise, life of all men, in the waters’ home,—for him have sages built as ’twere a seat.
