10.133.1
परो षवस्मै पुरोरथमिन्द्राय शूषमर्चत |
pro ṣvasmai purorathamindrāya śūṣamarcata |
1. SING strength to Indra that shall set his chariot in the foremost place.
10.133.2
अभीके चिदुलोकक्र्त संगे समत्सु वर्त्रहास्माकं बोधि चोदितानभन्तामन्यकेषां जयाका अधि धन्वसु ||
abhīke cidulokakṛt saṃghe samatsu vṛtrahāsmākaṃ bodhi coditānabhantāmanyakeṣāṃ jyākā adhi dhanvasu ||
Giver of room in closest fight, slayer of foes in shock of war, be thou our great encourager. Let the weak bowstrings break upon the bows of feeble enemies.
10.133.3
तवं सिन्धून्रवास्र्जो.अधराचो अहन्नहिम |
tvaṃ sindhūnravāsṛjo.adharāco ahannahim |
2 Thou didst destroy the Dragon: thou sentest the rivers down to earth.
10.133.4
अशत्रुरिन्द्रजज्ञिषे विश्वं पुष्यसि वार्यं तं तवा परि षवजामहेनभन्तामन्यकेषां जयाका अधि धन्वसु ||
aśatrurindrajajñiṣe viśvaṃ puṣyasi vāryaṃ taṃ tvā pari ṣvajāmahenabhantāmanyakeṣāṃ jyākā adhi dhanvasu ||
Foeless, O Indra, wast thou born. Thou tendest well each choicest thing. Therefore we draw us close to thee. Let the weak bowstrings break upon the bows of feeble enemies.
10.133.5
वि षु विश्वा अरातयो.अर्यो नशन्त नो धियः |
vi ṣu viśvā arātayo.aryo naśanta no dhiyaḥ |
3 Destroyed be all malignities and all our enemy's designs.
10.133.6
अस्तासिशत्रवे वधं यो न इन्द्र जिघांसति या ते रातिर्ददिर्वसु नभन्तामन्यकेषां जयाका अधि धन्वसु ||
astāsiśatrave vadhaṃ yo na indra jighāṃsati yā te rātirdadirvasu nabhantāmanyakeṣāṃ jyākā adhi dhanvasu ||
Thy bolt thou castest, at the foe, O Indra, who would srnite us dead: thy liberal bounty gives us wealth.
10.133.7
यो न इन्द्राभितो जनो वर्कायुरादिदेशति |
yo na indrābhito jano vṛkāyurādideśati |
4 The robber people round about, Indra, who watch and aim at us,—
10.133.8
अधस्पदं तमीं कर्धि विबाधो असि सासहिर्नभन्तामन्यकेषां जयाकाधि धन्वसु ||
adhaspadaṃ tamīṃ kṛdhi vibādho asi sāsahirnabhantāmanyakeṣāṃ jyākāadhi dhanvasu ||
Trample them down beneath thy foot; a conquering scatterer art thou.
10.133.9
यो न इन्द्राभिदासति सनाभिर्यश्च निष्ट्यः |
yo na indrābhidāsati sanābhiryaśca niṣṭyaḥ |
5 Whoso assails us, Indra, be the man a stranger or akin,
10.133.10
अव तस्यबलं तिर महीव दयौरध तमना नभन्तामन्यकेषांज्याका अधि धन्वसु ||
ava tasyabalaṃ tira mahīva dyauradha tmanā nabhantāmanyakeṣāṃjyākā adhi dhanvasu ||
Bring down, thyself, his strength although it be as vast as are the heavens.
10.133.11
वयमिन्द्र तवायवः सखित्वमा रभामहे |
vayamindra tvāyavaḥ sakhitvamā rabhāmahe |
6 Close to thy friendship do we cling, O Indra, and depend, or, thee.
10.133.12
रतस्य नःपथा नयाति विश्वानि दुरिता नभन्तामन्यकेषांज्याका अधि धन्वसु ||
ṛtasya naḥpathā nayāti viśvāni duritā nabhantāmanyakeṣāṃjyākā adhi dhanvasu ||
Lead us beyond all pain and grief along the path of holy Law.
10.133.13
अस्मभ्यं सु तवमिन्द्र तां शिक्ष या दोहते परति वरंजरित्रे |
asmabhyaṃ su tvamindra tāṃ śikṣa yā dohate prati varaṃjaritre |
7 Do thou bestow upon us her, O Indra, who yields according to the singer's longing,
10.133.14
अछिद्रोध्नी पीपयद यथा नः सहस्रधारापयसा मही गौः ||
achidrodhnī pīpayad yathā naḥ sahasradhārāpayasā mahī ghauḥ ||
That the great Cow may, with exhaustless udder, pouring a thousand streams, give milk to feed us.
