10.65.1
अग्निरिन्द्रो वरुणो मित्रो अर्यमा वायुः पूषा सरस्वतीसजोषसः |
aghnirindro varuṇo mitro aryamā vāyuḥ pūṣā sarasvatīsajoṣasaḥ |
1. MAY Agni, Indra, Mitra, Varuṇa consent, Aryaman, Vāyu, Pūṣan, and Sarasvatī,
10.65.2
आदित्या विष्णुर्मरुतः सवर्ब्र्हत सोमो रुद्रोदितिर्ब्रह्मणस पतिः ||
ādityā viṣṇurmarutaḥ svarbṛhat somo rudroaditirbrahmaṇas patiḥ ||
Ādityas, Maruts, Viṣṇu, Soma, lofty Sky, Rudra and Aditi, and Brahmaṇaspati.
10.65.3
इन्द्राग्नी वर्त्रहत्येषु सत्पती मिथो हिन्वाना तन्वासमोकसा |
indrāghnī vṛtrahatyeṣu satpatī mitho hinvānā tanvāsamokasā |
2 Indra and Agni, Hero-lords when Vṛtra fell, dwelling together, speeding emulously on,
10.65.4
अन्तरिक्षं मह्या पप्रुरोजसा सोमो घर्तश्रीर्महिमानमीरयन ||
antarikṣaṃ mahyā paprurojasā somo ghṛtaśrīrmahimānamīrayan ||
And Soma blent with oil, putting his greatness forth, have with their power filled full the mighty firmament.
10.65.5
तेषां हि मह्ना महतामनर्वणां सतोमानियर्म्य्र्तज्ञा रताव्र्धाम |
teṣāṃ hi mahnā mahatāmanarvaṇāṃ stomāniyarmyṛtajñā ṛtāvṛdhām |
3 Skilled in the Law I lift the hymn of praise to these, Law-strengtheners, unassailed, and great in majesty.
10.65.6
ये अप्सवमर्णवं चित्रराधसस्तेनो रासन्तां महये सुमित्र्याः ||
ye apsavamarṇavaṃ citrarādhasasteno rāsantāṃ mahaye sumitryāḥ ||
These in their wondrous bounty send the watery sea: may they as kindly Friends send gifts to make us great.
10.65.7
सवर्णरमन्तरिक्षाणि रोचना दयावाभूमी पर्थिवींस्कम्भुरोजसा |
svarṇaramantarikṣāṇi rocanā dyāvābhūmī pṛthivīṃskambhurojasā |
4 They with their might have stayed Heaven, Earth, and Prthivi, the Lord of Light, the firmament, -the lustrous spheres.
10.65.8
पर्क्षा इव महयन्तः सुरातयो देवास्तवन्ते मनुषाय सूरयः ||
pṛkṣā iva mahayantaḥ surātayo devāstavante manuṣāya sūrayaḥ ||
Even as fleet-foot steeds who make their masters glad, the princely Gods are praised, most bountiful to man.
10.65.9
मित्राय शिक्ष वरुणाय दाशुषे या सम्राजा मनसा नप्रयुछतः |
mitrāya śikṣa varuṇāya dāśuṣe yā samrājā manasā naprayuchataḥ |
5 Bring gifts to Mitra and to Varuṇa who, Lords of all, in spirit never fail the worshipper,
10.65.10
ययोर्धाम धर्मणा रोचते बर्हद ययोरुभेरोदसी नाधसी वर्तौ ||
yayordhāma dharmaṇā rocate bṛhad yayorubherodasī nādhasī vṛtau ||
Whose statute shines on high through everlasting Law, whose places of sure refuge are the heavens and earth.
10.65.11
या गौर्वर्तनिं पर्येति निष्क्र्तं पयो दुहाना वरतनीरवारतः |
yā ghaurvartaniṃ paryeti niṣkṛtaṃ payo duhānā vratanīravārataḥ |
6 The cow who yielding milk goes her appointed way hither to us as leader of holy rites,
10.65.12
सा परब्रुवाणा वरुणाय दाशुषे देवेभ्योदाशद धविषा विवस्वते ||
sā prabruvāṇā varuṇāya dāśuṣe devebhyodāśad dhaviṣā vivasvate ||
Speaking aloud to Varuṇa and the worshipper, shall with oblation serve Vivasvān and the Gods.
10.65.13
दिवक्षसो अग्निजिह्वा रताव्र्ध रतस्य योनिं विम्र्शन्त आसते |
divakṣaso aghnijihvā ṛtāvṛdha ṛtasya yoniṃ vimṛśanta āsate |
7 The Gods whose tongue is Agni dwell in heaven, and sit, aiders of Law, reflecting, in the seat of Law.
10.65.14
दयां सकभित्व्यप आ चक्रुरोजसा यज्ञं जनित्वीतन्वी नि माम्र्जुः ||
dyāṃ skabhitvyapa ā cakrurojasā yajñaṃ janitvītanvī ni māmṛjuḥ ||
They propped up heaven and then brought waters with their might, got sacrifice and in a body made it fair.
10.65.15
परिक्षिता पितरा पूर्वजावरी रतस्य योना कषयतःसमोकसा |
parikṣitā pitarā pūrvajāvarī ṛtasya yonā kṣayataḥsamokasā |
8 Born in the oldest time, the Parents dwelling round are sharers of one mansion in the home of Law.
10.65.16
दयावाप्र्थिवी वरुणाय सव्रते घर्तवत पयोमहिषाय पिन्वतः ||
dyāvāpṛthivī varuṇāya savrate ghṛtavat payomahiṣāya pinvataḥ ||
Bound by their common vow Dyaus, Prthivi stream forth the moisture rich in oil to Varuṇa the Steer.
10.65.17
पर्जन्यावाता वर्षभा पुरीषिणेन्द्रवायू वरुणो मित्रोर्यमा |
parjanyāvātā vṛṣabhā purīṣiṇendravāyū varuṇo mitroaryamā |
9 Parjanya, Vāta, mighty, senders of the rain, Indra and Vāyu, Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman:
10.65.18
देवानादित्यानदितिं हवामहे ये पार्थिवासोदिव्यासो अप्सु ये ||
devānādityānaditiṃ havāmahe ye pārthivāsodivyāso apsu ye ||
We call on Aditi, Ādityas, and the Gods, those who are on the earth, in waters, and in heaven.
10.65.19
तवष्टारं वायुं रभवो य ओहते दैव्या होतारा उषसंस्वस्तये |
tvaṣṭāraṃ vāyuṃ ṛbhavo ya ohate daivyā hotārā uṣasaṃsvastaye |
10 Tvaṣṭar and Vāyu, those who count as Ṛbhus, both celestial Hotar-priests, and Dawn for happiness,
10.65.20
बर्हस्पतिं वर्त्रखादं सुमेधसमिन्द्रियंसोमं धनसा उ ईमहे ||
bṛhaspatiṃ vṛtrakhādaṃ sumedhasamindriyaṃsomaṃ dhanasā u īmahe ||
Winners of wealth, we call, and wise Bṛhaspati, destroyer of our foes, and Soma Indra's Friend.
10.65.21
बरह्म गामश्वं जनयन्त ओषधीर्वनस्पतीन पर्थिवीम्पर्वतानपः |
brahma ghāmaśvaṃ janayanta oṣadhīrvanaspatīn pṛthivīmparvatānapaḥ |
11 They generated prayer, the cow, the horse, the plants, the forest trees, the earth, the waters, and the hills.
10.65.22
सूर्यं दिवि रोहयन्तः सुदानव आर्याव्रता विस्र्जन्तो अधि कषमि ||
sūryaṃ divi rohayantaḥ sudānava āryāvratā visṛjanto adhi kṣami ||
These very bounteous Gods made the Sun mount to heaven, and spread the righteous laws of Āryas o’er the land.
10.65.23
भुज्युमंहसः पिप्र्थो निरश्विना शयावं पुत्रंवध्रिमत्या अजिन्वतम |
bhujyumaṃhasaḥ pipṛtho niraśvinā śyāvaṃ putraṃvadhrimatyā ajinvatam |
12 O Aśvins, ye delivered Bhujyu from distress, ye animated Śyāva, Vadhrmati's son.
10.65.24
कमद्युवं विमदायोहथुर्युवंविष्णाप्वं विश्वकायाव सर्जथः ||
kamadyuvaṃ vimadāyohathuryuvaṃviṣṇāpvaṃ viśvakāyāva sṛjathaḥ ||
To Vimada ye brought his consort Kamadyu, and gave his lost Viṣṇāpū back to Viśvaka.
10.65.25
पावीरवी तन्यतुरेकपादजो दिवो धर्ता सिन्धुरापःसमुद्रियः |
pāvīravī tanyaturekapādajo divo dhartā sindhurāpaḥsamudriyaḥ |
13 Thunder, the lightning's daughter, Aja-Ekapād, heaven's bearer, Sindhu, and the waters of the sea:
10.65.26
विश्वे देवासः शर्णवन वचांसि मे सरस्वतीसह धीभिः पुरन्ध्या ||
viśve devāsaḥ śṛṇavan vacāṃsi me sarasvatīsaha dhībhiḥ purandhyā ||
Hear all the Gods my words, Sarasvatī give ear together with Purandhi and with Holy Thoughts.
10.65.27
विश्वे देवाः सह धीभिः पुरन्ध्या मनोर्यजत्राम्र्ता रतज्ञाः |
viśve devāḥ saha dhībhiḥ purandhyā manoryajatrāamṛtā ṛtajñāḥ |
14 With Holy Thoughts and with Purandhi may all Gods, knowing the Law immortal, Manu's Holy Ones,
10.65.28
रातिषाचो अभिषाचः सवर्विदः सवर्गिरो बरह्म सूक्तं जुषेरत ||
rātiṣāco abhiṣācaḥ svarvidaḥ svarghiro brahma sūktaṃ juṣerata ||
Boon-givers, favourers, finders of light, and Heaven, with gracious love accept my songs, my prayer, my hymn.
10.65.29
देवान वसिष्ठो अम्र्तान ववन्दे ये विश्वा भुवनाभिप्रतस्थुः |
devān vasiṣṭho amṛtān vavande ye viśvā bhuvanābhipratasthuḥ |
15 Immortal Gods have I, Vasiṣṭha, lauded, Gods set on high above all other beings.
10.65.30
ते नो रासन्तामुरुगायमद्य यूयं पातस्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ||
te no rāsantāmurughāyamadya yūyaṃ pātasvastibhiḥ sadā naḥ ||
May they this day grant us wide space and freedom: ye Gods, preserve us evermore with blessings.
