6.31.1
अभूरेको रयिपते रयीणामा हस्तयोरधिथा इन्द्र कर्ष्टीः |
abhūreko rayipate rayīṇāmā hastayoradhithā indra kṛṣṭīḥ |
1. SOLE Lord of wealth art thou, O Lord of riches: thou in thine hands hast held the people, Indra!
6.31.2
वि तोके अप्सु तनये च सूरे.अवोचन्त चर्षणयो विवाचः ||
vi toke apsu tanaye ca sūre.avocanta carṣaṇayo vivācaḥ ||
Men have invoked thee with contending voices for seed and waters, progeny and sunlight.
6.31.3
तवद भियेन्द्र पार्थिवानि विश्वाच्युता चिच्च्यावयन्ते रजांसि |
tvad bhiyendra pārthivāni viśvācyutā ciccyāvayante rajāṃsi |
2 Through fear of thee, O Indra, all the regions of earth, though naught may move them, shake and tremble.
6.31.4
दयावाक्षामा पर्वतासो वनानि विश्वं दर्ळ्हं भयते अज्मन्ना ते ||
dyāvākṣāmā parvatāso vanāni viśvaṃ dṛḷhaṃ bhayate ajmannā te ||
All that is firm is frightened at thy coming, -the earth, the heaven, the mountain, and the forest.
6.31.5
तवं कुत्सेनाभि शुष्णमिन्द्राशुषं युध्य कुयवं गविष्टौ |
tvaṃ kutsenābhi śuṣṇamindrāśuṣaṃ yudhya kuyavaṃ ghaviṣṭau |
3 With Kutsa, Indra! thou didst conquer Śuṣṇa, voracious, bane of crops, in fight for cattle.
6.31.6
दश परपित्वे अध सूर्यस्य मुषायश्चक्रमविवेरपांसि ||
daśa prapitve adha sūryasya muṣāyaścakramaviverapāṃsi ||
In the close fray thou rentest him: thou stolest the Sun's wheel and didst drive away misfortunes.
6.31.7
तवं शतान्यव शम्बरस्य पुरो जघन्थाप्रतीनि सस्योः |
tvaṃ śatānyava śambarasya puro jaghanthāpratīni sasyoḥ |
4 Thou smotest to the ground the hundred castles, impregnable, of Śambara the Dasyu,
6.31.8
अशिक्षो यत्र शच्या शचीवो दिवोदासाय सुन्वते सुतक्रे भरद्वाजाय गर्णते वसूनि ||
aśikṣo yatra śacyā śacīvo divodāsāya sunvate sutakre bharadvājāya ghṛṇate vasūni ||
When, Strong, with might thou holpest Divodāsa who poured libations out, O Soma-buyer, and madest Bharadvāja rich who praised thee.
6.31.9
स सत्यसत्वन महते रणाय रथमा तिष्ठ तुविन्र्म्ण भीमम |
sa satyasatvan mahate raṇāya rathamā tiṣṭha tuvinṛmṇa bhīmam |
5 As such, true Hero, for great joy of battle mount thy terrific car, O Brave and Manly.
6.31.10
याहि परपथिन्नवसोप मद्रिक पर च शरुत शरावय चर्षणिभ्यः ||
yāhi prapathinnavasopa madrik pra ca śruta śrāvaya carṣaṇibhyaḥ ||
Come with thine help to me, thou distant Roamer, and, glorious God, spread among men my glory.
