6.34.1
सं च तवे जग्मुर्गिर इन्द्र पूर्वीर्वि च तवद यन्ति विभ्वोमनीषाः |
saṃ ca tve jaghmurghira indra pūrvīrvi ca tvad yanti vibhvomanīṣāḥ |
1. FULL Many songs have met in thee, O Indra, and many a noble thought from thee proceedeth.
6.34.2
पूरा नूनं च सतुतय रषीणां पस्प्र्ध्र इन्द्रे अध्युक्थार्का ||
pūrā nūnaṃ ca stutaya ṛṣīṇāṃ paspṛdhra indre adhyukthārkā ||
Now and of old the eulogies of sages, their holy hymns and lauds, have yearned for Indra.
6.34.3
पुरुहूतो यः पुरुगूर्त रभ्वानेकः पुरुप्रशस्तो अस्ति यज्ञैः |
puruhūto yaḥ purughūrta ṛbhvānekaḥ purupraśasto asti yajñaiḥ |
2 He, praised of many, bold, invoked of many, alone is glorified at sacrifices.
6.34.4
रथो न महे शवसे युजानो.अस्माभिरिन्द्रो अनुमाद्यो भूत ||
ratho na mahe śavase yujāno.asmābhirindro anumādyo bhūt ||
Like a car harnessed for some great achievement, Indra must be the cause of our rejoicing.
6.34.5
न यं हिंसन्ति धीतयो न वाणीरिन्द्रं नक्षन्तीदभि वर्धयन्तीः |
na yaṃ hiṃsanti dhītayo na vāṇīrindraṃ nakṣantīdabhi vardhayantīḥ |
3 They make their way to Indra and exalt him, bim whom no prayers and no laudations trouble;
6.34.6
यदि सतोतारः शतं यत सहस्रं गर्णन्ति गिर्वणसं शं तदस्मै ||
yadi stotāraḥ śataṃ yat sahasraṃ ghṛṇanti ghirvaṇasaṃ śaṃ tadasmai ||
For when a hundred or a thousand singers. laud him who loves the song their praise delights him.
6.34.7
अस्मा एतद दिव्यर्चेव मासा मिमिक्ष इन्द्रे नययामि सोमः |
asmā etad divyarceva māsā mimikṣa indre nyayāmi somaḥ |
4 As brightness mingles with the Moon in heaven, the offered Soma yearns to mix with Indra.
6.34.8
जनं न धन्वन्नभि सं यदापः सत्रा वाव्र्धुर्हवनानि यज्ञैः ||
janaṃ na dhanvannabhi saṃ yadāpaḥ satrā vāvṛdhurhavanāni yajñaiḥ ||
Like water brought to men in desert places, our gifts at sacrifice have still refreshed him.
6.34.9
अस्मा एतन मह्याङगूषमस्मा इन्द्राय सतोत्रं मतिभिरवाचि |
asmā etan mahyāṅghūṣamasmā indrāya stotraṃ matibhiravāci |
5 To him this mighty eulogy, to Indra hath this our laud been uttered by the poets,
6.34.10
असद यथा महति वर्त्रतूर्य इन्द्रो विश्वायुरविता वर्धश्च ||
asad yathā mahati vṛtratūrya indro viśvāyuravitā vṛdhaśca ||
That in the great encounter with the foemen, Loved of all life, Indra may guard and help us.
