7.68.1
आ शुभ्रा यातमश्विना सवश्वा गिरो दस्रा जुजुषाणा युवाकोः |
ā śubhrā yātamaśvinā svaśvā ghiro dasrā jujuṣāṇā yuvākoḥ |
1. COME, radiant Aśvins, with your noble horses: accept your servant's hymns, ye Wonder-Workers:
7.68.2
हव्यानि च परतिभ्र्ता वीतं नः ||
havyāni ca pratibhṛtā vītaṃ naḥ ||
Enjoy oblations which we bring to greet you.
7.68.3
पर वामन्धांसि मद्यान्यस्थुररं गन्तं हविषो वीतये मे |
pra vāmandhāṃsi madyānyasthuraraṃ ghantaṃ haviṣo vītaye me |
2 The gladdening juices stand prepared before you: come quickly and partake of mine oblation.
7.68.4
तिरो अर्यो हवनानि शरुतं नः ||
tiro aryo havanāni śrutaṃ naḥ ||
Pass by the calling of our foe and bear us.
7.68.5
पर वां रथो मनोजवा इयर्ति तिरो रजांस्यश्विना शतोतिः |
pra vāṃ ratho manojavā iyarti tiro rajāṃsyaśvinā śatotiḥ |
3 Your chariot with a hundred aids, O Aśvins, beareth you swift as thought across the regions,
7.68.6
अस्मभ्यं सूर्यावसू इयानः ||
asmabhyaṃ sūryāvasū iyānaḥ ||
Speeding to us, O ye whose wealth is Sūrya.
7.68.7
अयं ह यद वां देवया उ अद्रिरूर्ध्वो विवक्ति सोमसुद युवभ्याम |
ayaṃ ha yad vāṃ devayā u adrirūrdhvo vivakti somasud yuvabhyām |
4 What time this stone of yours, the Gods’ adorer, upraised, sounds forth for you as Soma-presser,
7.68.8
आ वल्गू विप्रो वव्र्तीत हव्यैः ||
ā valghū vipro vavṛtīta havyaiḥ ||
Let the priest bring you, Fair Ones, through oblations.
7.68.9
चित्रं ह यद वां भोजनं नवस्ति नयत्रये महिष्वन्तं युयोतम |
citraṃ ha yad vāṃ bhojanaṃ nvasti nyatraye mahiṣvantaṃ yuyotam |
5 The nourishment ye have is, truly, wondrous: ye gave thereof a quickening store to Atri,
7.68.10
यो वामोमानं दधते परियः सन ||
yo vāmomānaṃ dadhate priyaḥ san ||
Who being dear to you, receives your favour.
7.68.11
उत तयद वां जुरते अश्विना भूच्च्यवानाय परतीत्यं हविर्दे |
uta tyad vāṃ jurate aśvinā bhūccyavānāya pratītyaṃ havirde |
6 That gift, which all may gain, ye gave Cyavāna, when he grew old, who offered you oblations,
7.68.12
अधि यद वर्प इतूति धत्थः ||
adhi yad varpa itaūti dhatthaḥ ||
When ye bestowed on him enduring beauty.
7.68.13
उत तयं भुज्युमश्विना सखायो मध्ये जहुर्दुरेवासः समुद्रे |
uta tyaṃ bhujyumaśvinā sakhāyo madhye jahurdurevāsaḥ samudre |
7 What time his wicked friends abandoned Bhujyu, O Aśvins, in the middle of the ocean,
7.68.14
निरीं पर्षदरावा यो युवाकुः ||
nirīṃ parṣadarāvā yo yuvākuḥ ||
Your horse delivered him, your faithful servant.
7.68.15
वर्काय चिज्जसमानाय शक्तमुत शरुतं शयवे हूयमाना |
vṛkāya cijjasamānāya śaktamuta śrutaṃ śayave hūyamānā |
8 Ye lent your aid to Vrka when exhausted, and listened when invoked to Śayu's calling.
7.68.16
यावघ्न्यामपिन्वतमपो न सतर्यं चिच्छक्त्यश्विनाशचीभिः ||
yāvaghnyāmapinvatamapo na staryaṃ cicchaktyaśvināśacībhiḥ ||
Ye made the cow pour forth her milk like water, and, Aśvins, strengthened with your strength the barren.
7.68.17
एष सय कारुर्जरते सूक्तैरग्रे बुधान उषसां सुमन्मा |
eṣa sya kārurjarate sūktairaghre budhāna uṣasāṃ sumanmā |
9 With his fair hymns this singer, too, extols you, waking with glad thoughts at the break of morning.
7.68.18
इषा तं वर्धदघ्न्या पयोभिर्यूयं पात ... ||
iṣā taṃ vardhadaghnyā payobhiryūyaṃ pāta ... ||
May the cow nourish him with milk to feed llim. Preserve us evermore, ye Gods, with blessings.
