7.70.1
आ विश्ववाराश्विना गतं नः पर तत सथानमवाचि वां पर्थिव्याम |
ā viśvavārāśvinā ghataṃ naḥ pra tat sthānamavāci vāṃ pṛthivyām |
1. RICH in all blessings, Aśvins come ye hither: this place on earth is called your own possession,
7.70.2
अश्वो न वाजी शुनप्र्ष्ठो अस्थादा यत सेदथुर्ध्रुवसे न योनिम ||
aśvo na vājī śunapṛṣṭho asthādā yat sedathurdhruvase na yonim ||
Like a strong horse with a fair back it standeth, whereon, as in a lap, ye seat you firmly.
7.70.3
सिषक्ति सा वां सुमतिश्चनिष्ठातापि घर्मो मनुषो दुरोणे |
siṣakti sā vāṃ sumatiścaniṣṭhātāpi gharmo manuṣo duroṇe |
2 This most delightful eulogy awaits you in the man's house drink-offering hath been heated,
7.70.4
यो वां समुद्रान सरितः पिपर्त्येतग्वा चिन न सुयुजा युजानः ||
yo vāṃ samudrān saritaḥ pipartyetaghvā cin na suyujā yujānaḥ ||
Which bringeth you over the seas and rivers, yoking as’twere two well-matched shining horses.
7.70.5
यानि सथानान्यश्विना दधाथे दिवो यह्वीष्वोषधीषु विक्षु |
yāni sthānānyaśvinā dadhāthe divo yahvīṣvoṣadhīṣu vikṣu |
3 Whatever dwellings ye possess, O Aśvins, in fields of men or in the streams of heaven,
7.70.6
नि पर्वतस्य मूर्धनि सदन्तेषं जनाय दाशुषेवहन्ता ||
ni parvatasya mūrdhani sadanteṣaṃ janāya dāśuṣevahantā ||
Resting upon the summit of the mountain, or bringing food to him who gives oblation,
7.70.7
चनिष्टं देवा ओषधीष्वप्सु यद योग्या अश्नवैथे रषीणाम |
caniṣṭaṃ devā oṣadhīṣvapsu yad yoghyā aśnavaithe ṛṣīṇām |
4 Delight yourselves, ye Gods, in plants and waters when Ṛṣis give them and ye find they suit You.
7.70.8
पुरूणि रत्ना दधतौ नयस्मे अनु पूर्वाणि चख्यथुर्युगानि ||
purūṇi ratnā dadhatau nyasme anu pūrvāṇi cakhyathuryughāni ||
Enriching us with treasures in abundance ye have looked back to former generations.
7.70.9
शुश्रुवांसा चिदश्विना पुरूण्यभि बरह्माणि चक्षाथे रषीणाम |
śuśruvāṃsā cidaśvinā purūṇyabhi brahmāṇi cakṣāthe ṛṣīṇām |
5 Aśvins, though ye have heard them oft aforetime, regard the many prayers which Ṛṣis offer.
7.70.10
परति पर यातं वरमा जनायास्मे वामस्तु सुमतिश्चनिष्ठा ||
prati pra yātaṃ varamā janāyāsme vāmastu sumatiścaniṣṭhā ||
Come to the man even as his heart desireth: may we enjoy your most delightful favour.
7.70.11
यो वां यज्ञो नासत्या हविष्मान कर्तब्रह्मा समर्यो भवाति |
yo vāṃ yajño nāsatyā haviṣmān kṛtabrahmā samaryo bhavāti |
6 Come to the sacrifice offered you, Nāsatyas, with men, oblations, and prayer duly uttered.
7.70.12
उप पर यातं वरमा वसिष्ठमिमा बरह्माण्य रच्यन्ते युवभ्याम ||
upa pra yātaṃ varamā vasiṣṭhamimā brahmāṇy ṛcyante yuvabhyām ||
Come to Vasiṣṭha as his heart desireth, for unto you these holy hymns are chanted.
7.70.13
इयं मनीषा इयमश्विना गीरिमां सुव्र्क्तिं वर्षणा जुषेथाम |
iyaṃ manīṣā iyamaśvinā ghīrimāṃ suvṛktiṃ vṛṣaṇā juṣethām |
7 This is the thought, this is the song, O Aśvins: accept this hymn of ours, ye Steers, with favour.
7.70.14
इमा बरह्माणि युवयून्यग्मन यूयं पात ... ||
imā brahmāṇi yuvayūnyaghman yūyaṃ pāta ... ||
May these our prayers addressed to you come nigh you. Preserve us evermore, ye Gods, with blessings.
