8.34.1
एन्द्र याहि हरिभिरुप कण्वस्य सुष्टुतिम |
endra yāhi haribhirupa kaṇvasya suṣṭutim |
1. Come hither, Indra, with thy Bays, come thou to Kaṇva's eulogy.
8.34.2
दिवो अमुष्य शासतो दिवं यय दिवावसो ||
divo amuṣya śāsato divaṃ yaya divāvaso ||
Ye by command of yonder Dyaus, God bright by day! have gone to heaven.
8.34.3
आ तवा गरावा वदन्निह सोमी घोषेण यछतु |
ā tvā ghrāvā vadanniha somī ghoṣeṇa yachatu |
2 May the stone draw thee as it speaks, the Soma-stone with ringing voice.
8.34.4
दिवो अमुष्य ... ||
divo amuṣya ... ||
Ye by command of yonder Dyaus, God bright by day! have gone to heaven.
8.34.5
अत्रा वि नेमिरेषामुरां न धूनुते वर्कः |
atrā vi nemireṣāmurāṃ na dhūnute vṛkaḥ |
3 The stones' rim shakes the Soma here like a wolf worrying a sheep.
8.34.6
दिवो अमुष्य... ||
divo amuṣya... ||
Ye by command of yonder Dyaus, God bright by day! have gone to heaven.
8.34.7
आ तवा कण्वा इहावसे हवन्ते वाजसातये |
ā tvā kaṇvā ihāvase havante vājasātaye |
4 The Kaṇvas call thee hitherward for succour and to win the spoil.
8.34.8
दिवो अमुष्य .. . ||
divo amuṣya .. . ||

8.34.9
दधामि ते सुतानां वर्ष्णे न पूर्वपाय्यम |
dadhāmi te sutānāṃ vṛṣṇe na pūrvapāyyam |
5 I set for thee, as for the Strong, the first draught of the juices shed.
8.34.10
दिवो अमुष्य... ||

6 Come with abundant blessings, come with perfect care to succour us.
8.34.11
समत्पुरन्धिर्न आ गहि विश्वतोधीर्न ऊतये |
smatpurandhirna ā ghahi viśvatodhīrna ūtaye |
7 Come, Lord of lofty thought, who hast infinite wealth and countless aids.
8.34.12
दिवो अमुष्य... ||

8 Adorable mid Gods, the Priest good to mankind shall bring thee near.
8.34.13
आ नो याहि महेमते सहस्रोते शतामघ |
ā no yāhi mahemate sahasrote śatāmagha |
9 As wings the falcon, so thy Bays rushing in joy shall carry thee.
8.34.14

10 Come from the enemy to us, to svaha and the Soma-draught.
8.34.15
आ तवा होता मनुर्हितो देवत्रा वक्षदीड्यः |
ā tvā hotā manurhito devatrā vakṣadīḍyaḥ |
11 Come hither with thine car inclined to hear, take pleasure in our lauds.
8.34.16
दिवो अमुष्य ... ||

12 Lord of well-nourished Horses, come with well-fed Steeds alike in hue.
8.34.17
आ तवा मदच्युता हरी शयेनं पक्षेव वक्षतः |
ā tvā madacyutā harī śyenaṃ pakṣeva vakṣataḥ |
13 Come hither from the mountains, come from regions of the sea of air.
8.34.18
दिवो अमुष्य ... ||

14 Disclose to us O Hero, wealth in thousands both of kine and steeds.
8.34.19
आ याह्यर्य आ परि सवाहा सोमस्य पीतये |
ā yāhyarya ā pari svāhā somasya pītaye |
15 Bring riches hitherward to us in hundreds, thousands, myriads.
8.34.20
दिवो अमुष्य... ||

आ नो याह्युपश्रुत्युक्थेषु रणया इह |
ā no yāhyupaśrutyuktheṣu raṇayā iha |
16 The thousand steeds, the mightiest troop, which we and Indra have received

From Vasurocis as a gift,
8.34.23
सरूपैरा सु नो गहि सम्भ्र्तैः सम्भ्र्ताश्वः |
sarūpairā su no ghahi sambhṛtaiḥ sambhṛtāśvaḥ |
17 The brown that match the wind in speed, and bright bay coursers fleet of foot,
8.34.24
दिवो अमुष्य ... ||

Like Suns, resplendent are they all.
8.34.25
आ याहि पर्वतेभ्यः समुद्रस्याधि विष्टपः |
ā yāhi parvatebhyaḥ samudrasyādhi viṣṭapaḥ |
18 Mid the Pargvata's rich gifts, swift steeds whose wheels run rapidly,
8.34.26
दिवो अमुष्य ... ||
divo amuṣya ... ||
I seemed to stand amid a wood.
