9.83.1
पवित्रं ते विततं बरह्मणस पते परभुर्गात्राणि पर्येषिविश्वतः |
pavitraṃ te vitataṃ brahmaṇas pate prabhurghātrāṇi paryeṣiviśvataḥ |
1. SPREAD is thy cleansing filter, Brahmaṇaspati: as Prince, thou enterest its limbs from every side.
9.83.2
अतप्ततनूर्न तदामो अश्नुते शर्तास इद वहन्तस्तत समाशत ||
ataptatanūrna tadāmo aśnute śṛtāsa id vahantastat samāśata ||
The raw, whose mass hath not been heated gains not this: they only which are dressed, which bear, attain to it.
9.83.3
तपोष पवित्रं विततं दिवस पदे शोचन्तो अस्य तन्तवो वयस्थिरन |
tapoṣ pavitraṃ vitataṃ divas pade śocanto asya tantavo vyasthiran |
2 High in the seat of heaven is spread the Scorcher's sieve: its threads are standing separate, glittering with light.
9.83.4
अवन्त्यस्य पवीतारमाशवो दिवस पर्ष्ठमधितिष्ठन्ति चेतसा ||
avantyasya pavītāramāśavo divas pṛṣṭhamadhitiṣṭhanti cetasā ||
The Swift Ones favour him who purifieth this: with consciousness they stand upon the height of heaven.
9.83.5
अरूरुचदुषसः पर्श्निरग्रिय उक्षा बिभर्ति भुवनानि वाजयुः |
arūrucaduṣasaḥ pṛśniraghriya ukṣā bibharti bhuvanāni vājayuḥ |
3 The foremost spotted Steer hath made the Mornings shine, and yearning after strength sustains all things that be.
9.83.6
मायाविनो ममिरे अस्य मायया नर्चक्षसः पितरो गर्भमा दधुः ||
māyāvino mamire asya māyayā nṛcakṣasaḥ pitaro gharbhamā dadhuḥ ||
By his high wisdom have the mighty Sages wrought: the Fathers who behold mankind laid down the germ,
9.83.7
गन्धर्व इत्था पदमस्य रक्षति पाति देवानां जनिमान्यद्भुतः |
ghandharva itthā padamasya rakṣati pāti devānāṃ janimānyadbhutaḥ |
4 Gandharva verily protects his dwellingplace; Wondrous, he guards the generations of the Gods.
9.83.8
गर्भ्णाति रिपुं निधया निधापतिः सुक्र्त्तमा मधुनो भक्षमाशत ||
ghṛbhṇāti ripuṃ nidhayā nidhāpatiḥ sukṛttamā madhuno bhakṣamāśata ||
Lord of the snare, he takes the foeman with the snare: those who are most devout have gained a share of meath.
9.83.9
हविर्हविष्मो महि सद्म दैव्यं नभो वसानः परि यास्यध्वरम |
havirhaviṣmo mahi sadma daivyaṃ nabho vasānaḥ pari yāsyadhvaram |
5 Rich in oblations! robed in cloud, thou corapassest oblation, sacrifice, the mighty seat of Gods.
9.83.10
राजा पवित्ररथो वाजमारुहः सहस्रभ्र्ष्टिर्जयसि शरवो बर्हत ||
rājā pavitraratho vājamāruhaḥ sahasrabhṛṣṭirjayasi śravo bṛhat ||
King, on thy chariot-sieve thou goest up to war, and with a thousand weapons winnest lofty fame.
